WHAT IS A SERVICE?

A vehicle service is a series of maintenance procedures carried out at a set time interval or after the vehicle has travelled a certain distance. The service intervals are specified by the vehicle manufacturer in a service schedule and some modern cars display the due date for the next service electronically on the instrument panel.

The completed services are usually recorded in a service book which is rubber stamped by us upon completion of each service. A complete service history usually adds to the resale value of a vehicle

DO I STILL NEED A SERVICE IF I'VE HAD MY MOT?

While an MOT test covers the roadworthiness of your vehicle in terms of safety, mechanical features such as the clutch, gear box, and engine mountings, are not inspceted. Any maintenance that is needed for the reliable and efficient operation of your vehicle forms part of a service inspection that is recommended by manufacturers.

HOW DO I KNOW WHAT SERVICE MY CAR NEEDS?

Most cars need a general service every year or 12,000 miles, whichever comes sooner. A full service is normally required every 2 years or 24,000 miles. However, many people often have an oil service carried out every 6 months, escpecially if the vehicle is used for motorway driving.
